Roles of Women in 1900s

Women working as seamstresses,
c. 1900s.
A few things happened in the 1900s including a brand new century. Women started to join the workforce and they started to socialize a lot more than they did before, which will be hard to believe if you don't do your own research and just rely on my D-average explanation of how women lived during a certain era or decade but anyways, let's begin!

As the saying goes, women are the weaker sex but the virtuous some seems quite logically accurate for the women during the 1900s. For starters, they still wore long skirts and corsets but heading towards had half-an-hour figure as they head towards 1910, fashion-wise.

They were mostly teachers and got paid two to three times less than men; however, they fought for their right and their place at the table. This is primarily because of what they've been through during the 1800s. They even gained the right to vote, which gave them (a voice within political debates and) a voice in politics and a voice within their communities; also, they were highly active in religion. In fact, the women makes up more than 80% of the Catholic teaching personnel in Quebec, which makes them the ruling population in religion and possibly, an important roles in Canada during 1900s.

I found this decade a little boring but it was a change in the roles of women in society. I thought that it was the decade that was a little boring to follow and had the most dramatic changes for women. First of all, I didn't know that they started to fight for themselves because they has enough and wanted a voice, and show people what they got and what they could be a part of if they put their minds to the test. Secondly, they were a religious group of women but they kind of kept fighting (which is sort of against the Bible's expectations for women) for their rights until the 1920s when Women Suffrage ended. Lastly, they got paid two or three times less than the men and continues to be paid the same way today in third world countries. I think that we had a lot to be thankful for because we don't have to go through; what they went through to show people what they've got. To conclude this entry, we should all show the world what we are made for, so let's not waste what women fought for in the past.
